The region lies 72 kilometers northeast to Kathmandu and extends from north of Taramarang to the Gosaikunda Lake and then to the lower slopes of Jugal Himal. Take in the impressions of Nepal as we drive you from the airport to your hotel. We will assist you with the check-in and provide you with further information regarding your Everest Base Camp Trek. You may then have a rest or stroll through the bustling, colourful streets and alleys of Kathmandu.
Prepare for a day of immersion into the Nepalese culture, while visiting the most important landmarks of this fascinating city and its outskirts. Our experienced guide will take you to Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO heritage site which represents the political and historical values of Nepalese civilization.
We then proceed to Swayambhu Nath Temple, also known as ‘Monkey Temple’ thanks to its adorable colony of monkeys that run free. This temple is the symbol of harmony between Buddhists and Hindus. At the top of the stupa you will have a splendid birds-eye view of Kathmandu Valley and its surroundings.
We continue to the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, a holy place for Hindu devotees. Especially interesting is the holy cremation area where preparations and daily cremation ceremonies take place. From here we return to the hotel.
Early in the morning, we drive towards Sundarijal via Bhaktapur. On the way, we may get a glimpse of Ganesh Himal on a clear bright weather day. As we reach Sundarijal, we start ascending up through a stone paved stairway and enter the Shivapuri National Park. We continue ascending up through the forest to some point until when the views of mountains open up. As the mountains come into view, we start descending down in a lush environment appreciating the views of the snow clad mountains to Chisapani. We stay at a guesthouse in Chisapani for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Today we descend down and continue walking for around seven hours until we reach Kutumsang. We cross the lush meadows, fields and continue down through Pathi Bhanjyang to Gul Bhanjyang with the close of views of snow clad mountains on our sight. From Gul Bhanjyang, our trail climbs up through a ridge to another pass at an elevation of 2620 metres. We then start descending downhill until we reach Kutumsang where we stop at a guesthouse Melamchi. We cross for an overnight stay. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
In the morning, we fuel up ourselves with breakfast and start walking north up to Yurin Danda ridge. The ridge offers some best views of mountains. We climb up steep above Kutumsang through an eroded trail along fir and rhododendron forests. Today, we walk for around five hours until we reach Tharipati. We stay at a guesthouse in Tharipati for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Leaving Tharipati, we descend down and follow our trail until we reach a stream named the stream and gently walk up through Sherpa villages until we reach Tarkeghyang.Tarkeghyang is a beautiful Sherpa village that consists of old and big monasteries. We can get some insights about the Buddhist culture here. Tarkeghyang is also known as Helambu which is named after the Helmu caste. We spend our night at a guesthouse in Tarkeghyang. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Continuing through our trail, we cross a small forest admiring the views of beautiful Helambu region. We sweep around the wide valley and walk ahead until we pass the villages of Parachin and Gangyul. The people living in this villages practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, which is a unique religion practiced by the people in Bhutan. We continue ahead until we reach Shermathang and stay at a guesthouse in the village for the night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Today we leave Shermathang and continue walking until we reach Melamchi Pul Bazaar. The Sherpa village in the bazaar is appealing which will give us an insight on unique Sherpa culture and lifestyle. We catch our vehicle from the bazaar that will take us to Kathmandu. We spend our night at a hotel in Kathmandu. (Breakfast included)
After this wonderful adventure, it’s finally time to bid you a farewell. We will pick you up from the hotel and escort you to the airport for your journey home! We hope with all our hearts that we served you well and look forward to seeing you or your friends again someday.
