Australian Camp, Annapurna, and Sarangkot Hiking is an awesome way of endeavouring beauty of three beautiful locations in the Annapurna region of Nepal namely – Pokhara, Australian base camp, and Sarangkot. Pokhara is a lively city full of natural fame and adventurous whirl. It is a touristic hub and a gateway to the Annapurna region of Nepal. Each year many tourists visit Nepal just to visit Pokhara owing to its serene and captivating beauty. This beautiful city has some serene lakes embedded in it.

The outstanding views of mountains in the Annapurna range like Annapurna Himal and Macchapucchre Himal append to the magnificence of this place. Similarly, Australian Base Camp is a beautiful location on a hill-top that offers some stunning views of mountains in the Annapurna massif. You can enjoy the views of Annapurna South, Macchapucchre Himal, Hiunchuli Himal, and Lamjung Himal as you explore the viewpoint at Australian Camp.

Likewise, Sarangkot is another beautiful location that lies just above the Pokhara valley and offers some incredible views of Pokhara city and mountains in the Annapurna range. It is also an initiation point for many adventure activities available in Pokhara, including zip flyer, paragliding, ultralight flight, etc.

Australian Camp and Sarankot Hiking is a short hiking journey that lets you admire the magnificence of places like Pokhara, Sarangkot and Australian Camp. it is an awe-inspiring pleasing way of getting blessed with the awe-inspiring views of mountains and getting close to the natural fantasy of the Annapurna region of Nepal. The ethnic settlements, villages, people and their lifestyle, everything about this place is pleasing and appealing.

Annapurna Base Camp and Sarangkot Hiking start from the picturesque city of Pokhara. From Pokhara, we take a short drive to Phedi and start walking along the foothills of Annapurna to Australian Camp. We pass Dhampus village enjoying the lush landscape, villages, and farmlands in the backdrop of the beautiful Himalayas. We further walk through the forests of rhododendron and oak to Pothana from where we walk up the stone paved staircases to Australian Base Camp.

After enjoying the views of mountains and countryside landscape from the base camp, we descend down a forested area to Sarangkot. At Sarangkot, we can admire the views of mesmerizing sunrise and sunset. We can also try any adventure activities if we like on our own. In the evening, we return back to Pokhara and end our Australian Camp and Sarangkot Hiking.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu

Nepal Intrepid Treks will be your dedicated travel companion until you return to your home country. Once you arrive at Kathmandu airport, we will be there to pick you up and take you to your hotel. Accommodation for our valued customers includes room and breakfast in a three star hotel in Kathmandu.

Take in the impressions of Nepal as we drive you from the airport to your hotel. We will assist you with the check-in and provide you with further information regarding your Trip. You may then have a rest or stroll through the bustling, colorful streets and alleys of Kathmandu.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley

Prepare for a day of immersion into the Nepalese culture, while visiting the most important landmarks of this fascinating city and its outskirts. Our experienced guide will take you to Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO heritage site which represents the political and historical values of Nepalese civilization.

We then proceed to Swayambhu Nath Temple, also known as ‘Monkey Temple’ thanks to its adorable colony of monkeys that run free. This temple is the symbol of harmony between Buddhists and Hindus. At the top of the stupa you will have a splendid birds-eye view of Kathmandu Valley and its surroundings.

We continue to the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, a holy place for Hindu devotees. Especially interesting is the holy cremation area where preparations and daily cremation ceremonies take place. From here we return to the hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara

Early in the morning, after breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel and escort you to the bus station for the journey ahead. We take a tourist bus that will take us along the countryside landscape via Prithivi Highway to Pokhara in just six hours. Upon arrival, we check in to the hotel and rest for a while. In the evening, we take a walk around the lakeside with the beautiful views of mountains in backdrop. Return back to the hotel for overnight stay (Breakfast included)

Day 04: Trek to Australian Base Camp

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we take a short drive to Phedi and start walking up through the stone paved staircase and then through rhododendron forests to Dhampus.

Then we continue our climb up through beautiful villages and terraced farmland for a while when we enter again into the rhododendron forests, enjoying some stunning views of Annapurna Himal and Machhapuchhre until we reach the Australian Camp which is our halting point for the day. Stay overnight at a guesthouse in Australian Camp. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 05: Trek to Sarangkot

The view of mountains, hills, valleys and forests from the Australian Camp is amazing. After enjoying the views, we make our way through a forested area to Kande with descending for an hour. We trek continue passing through many villages and settlements to the Sarangkot. At Sarangkot we can explore the ethnic settlements that make the place vibrant and charming. Besides, the view of mountains from the village is more than spectacular. The majestic mountains right before your eyes with the picturesque city of Pokhara down below is a beautiful combination. Spend overnight at a guesthouse in Sarangkot. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 06: Trek to Pokhara

Today we wake up early in the morning and enjoy the glorious sunrise as they rise up amidst the ranges of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. After the sunrise view we enjoy our breakfast and make our way back to Pokhara. We trek down for one and half hour to two hour passing through the forest to Pokhara. Today you can enjoy your time in Pokhara with visiting the many beautiful touristic places.

Day 07: Drive to Kathmandu

Leaving Pokhara, we drive along the same country side landscape of Nepal along Trishuli River to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu (Breakfast included)

Day 08: FarewellDay

After this wonderful adventure, it’s finally time to bid you a farewell. We will pick you up from the hotel and escort you to the airport for your journey home! We hope with all our hearts that we served you well and look forward to seeing you or your friends again someday.
