Manaslu Region Trek

Manaslu Region Trek is one of the finest regions to travel in Nepal. Situated east of the Annapurna region, the Manaslu region is a restricted region unlike Annapurna that borders Tibet to the north. Manaslu region holds the glory of having the eighth highest mountain of the world – Mt. Manaslu (8,163m) with secluded and unspoiled natural splendour around.

This region is mostly travelled by those who would love to explore something new than the same old crowded routes. Though the region gets fewer visitors as compared to Annapurna, Everest and Langtang regions, it is very rich in terms of mountain views and spectacular landscapes. The fact that the region is only attempted by enthusiastic travellers who do not care about the off-beaten and secluded area adds to the feature of this region.

The trail to the Manaslu region trek goes through the Manaslu Conservation Area. The conservation area is a home to diverse species of floras and faunas found in that climatic region. As you walk through the region, you’ll find diversity in terms of climate, vegetation, culture, floras and faunas.

Apart from natural fantasies, the cultural richness is also another aspect of this region. Tibetan Buddhist culture is mostly prevalent here and the region is inhabited by the people of Gurung, Limbu, Rai and Magar community. Each community has their own unique culture, custom and dialects but the religion commonly practiced is Buddhism. The resemblance of Tibetan Buddhism can be seen in the stupas, gompas that you come across on the way. Likewise, the route is adorned with mani stones, chortens, prayer flags which reflects the Buddhism religion prevalent here. The people living in this area are simple and practice traditional lifestyle. They are engaged in agriculture and animal rearing for livelihood.

Manaslu Region Trek offers a wide range of trekking options. You can either opt for Manaslu Circuit Trek or you can opt for Manaslu with Annapurna Circuit Trek. Similarly, Tsum Valley Trek and Tsum Valley with Manaslu Trek can also be a wise option! The hidden valley of Tsum is considered as a valuable jewel of Nepal. The valley is wild and offers best views of mountains in its wild attire. Similarly, the valley has some ancient monasteries and caves that have a history of centuries back.
